What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Coordinator position at Terri's Treehouse?
The Food Service Coordinator supervises food preparation and serves meals and snacks to center children and staff. The Food Service Coordinator is responsible for maintenance, cleanliness, inventory and safety of kitchen while following USDA guidelines. Has full access to the garden, full kitchen and coordinates supplies and budget with meal plans and creation.
Duties
� Coordinate and implement menu and meal aligned with USDA Food Program and DCF Licensing Standards.
� Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
� Plan meals that are individual and group age-appropriate while actively engaging children and encourage wellness and nutrition.
� Preparing menu, creating budget, allocating supplies and goods
� Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
� Maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen environment ? including maintaining appropriate hygiene caring for equipment and cleanliness following standards and safety.
� Interact in garden and nutritional curriculum offering input to staff and integration in meals
� Maintain accurate records, forms, and files.
� Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous health hygiene and nutrition training annually
� Interact with children in a Developmentally appropriate way�
Requirements
� Experience cooking and meal preparation with a joy in meal creation.
� High energy & Motivation to get dirty and spearhead Outdoor Learning, Wellness, Gardening, and immersive activities.
� Ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a supportive environment that focuses on outdoor and open-ended learning and healthy engagement.
� A strong understanding of child development.
� In physical condition to be able to lift 20 lbs.
� Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
� Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification. Will Train if not skilled
� Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
Physical Requirements
� Ability to lift 30 lbs.� Stand for long periods of time.
� Move as the position requires.
