Terry Family Funeral Home, is currently seeking a Full Time Licensed Funeral Director / Embalmer to provide customer service in all areas of helping client families following the loss of a loved one. Provides exemplary personalized and professional service. Interacts with the family to fulfill death care needs. Ensures customer needs are addressed.
Specific Responsibilities Include :
- Arranges and conducts funeral and memorial ceremonies in a professional, organized and caring manner consistent with company policies and procedures
- Performs embalming services
- Ability to lift 75 pounds, bend and physically perform the duties required of a funeral director / embalmer
- Adheres to all company and regulatory requirements
- Works on an on-call schedule
- Understands schedule / tasks may need to be re-prioritized frequently and without notice causing staff to work overtime to complete
Cares for the deceased in a respectful manner while performing a variety of tasks which may include :
Removals and transfersLifting of deceased human remainsPerforms technical embalming services and cosmetologyDressing and casketingCoordinating and assisting with funeral service and visitationDelivery of flowers, caskets, urn, photos and other personal keepsakes or mementos of client familiesPerforms or assists with funeral services by :
Driving funeral vehiclesUshering and assisting at chapel and church services and at the cemeteryDelivering flowers, caskets, urn, photos and other personal keepsakes or mementos of client familiesAssists with the maintenance of vehicles, the facility and propertyReceive caskets and other funeral home supplies as well as place into inventory and carrying out any other responsibilities that may be reasonably delegated by managementRequirements & Qualifications :
Education :
Must be a licensed funeral director and embalmer or the ability to obtain a state license.Requires graduation from an accredited school of embalming or mortuary science.Experience :
2 years of experience as a licensed funeral director / embalmerKnowledge, Skills & Abilities :
