JOB TITLE : Facilities Engineer Level 3

JOB SUMMARY

Working without significant direction, performs independent evaluation, selection and application of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment and ingenuity in the operation of facilities related equipment and systems. This individual will be responsible for the development of operation and maintenance procedures, equipment selection, engineering changes, and will regularly have to coordinate with others to support production activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Leads qualification, validation, and commissioning activities on facilities equipment.
  • Works closely with team members to control and maintain the Building Automation Systems (BAS), and uses the BAS to monitor and troubleshoot equipment performance on a regular basis.
  • Will develop and implement Sequence of Operations (SOO) for HVAC and other MEP systems.
  • Implements and understands FDA or regulatory requirements as necessary.
  • Develops guidance documents for operation and maintenance of site facilities and equipment.
  • Supports 3rd party architects and engineering design personnel in the evaluation, selection, and testing of installed and replacement equipment in support of site modifications and upgrades.
  • Provides leadership for the functional group's development, direction, and effectiveness, adhering to organizational policies and processes and supporting overall business and corporate objectives.
  • Subject matter expert on all building systems and equipment; directs the troubleshooting and diagnosis of equipment and system issues outside the scope of the maintenance supervisor and technicians daily tasks.
  • Assists in the management of projects including development of project scope and estimates, initiation of requests for capital when required, specification of equipment and installation requirements, management of costs to budget.
  • Ensures that process and equipment designs are compliant with all Company policies and procedures as well as all Local, State, and Federal directives, laws and regulations.
  • Takes initiative and demonstrates inquisitive approaches to solve moderately complex problems, indentifying problems, generating alternatives and recommending solutions.
  • Follows department processes and regularly makes recommendations on these processes.
  • Responsible for the development of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC standards / guidelines for all projects.
  • Follows technical specification requirements, developing reports, charts and graphs to support project recommendations and responds to questions from technical staff members and management.
  • Works cooperatively and effectively in a team environment or across teams to achieve common goals and results.
  • Analyzes data and presents it in appropriate forums.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work direction responsibility may include maintenance technicians, vender technicians, and others.
  • May work with manufacturing, production, and other functional groups in support of overall production activities.
  • Will participate in periodic on-call coverage intended to support facilities related issues during off-work hours.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

    Education

  • Bachelor's degree or e quivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering , preferred.
  • Experience

  • Minimum 4 years experience.
  • Two years of GMP manufacturing experience desired.
  • Skills

  • Requires demonstrated skills in technical innovation, technical leadership, mechanical, chemical, or fluids engineering.
  • Requires interactive skills in cross-functional participation and influence, mentoring and acceptance of guidance, technical leadership, project management, coordination with cross-functional team members, team behavior, provides support for peers, subordinates, technicians, and management.
  • Demonstrated strengths in the performance of mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment trouble-shooting.
  • Interfaces with staff, suppliers, and external subject matter experts to resolve technical issues and train and provide work direction to operators and production service technicians.
  • Understanding of and adherence to GMP practices and FDA regulations.
  • Knowledgeand ability to implement FDA or regulatory requirements as necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
  • An equivalent competency level acquired through a variation of these qualifications may be considered.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    General Labor Environment requirements include : use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching / reaching, hand / finger dexterity, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, or transporting up to 500 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment.

    Target Pay Range : $107,000.00to$133,800.00 -Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data

    Target Bonus on Base : 7.0%
