What you'll do?Responsible for the smooth flow of received goods and supplies used in production as well as recording all pertinent information for both inbound and outbound trailers. Accountable for the timely shipment of customer orders and required to maintain accurate records of all activity. Incorrect or damaged shipments need to be returned by completing the necessary paperwork to verify the issue. Report defective materials, keep up the work area and equipment, and ensure an adequate supply of shipping materials is available at all times.
2nd Shift
Hours: 3:45 pm-2:00 am
Monday-Friday
Pay rate: $17/hr. to $19/hr.
Duties Include:
- Main point of contact with drivers and vendors.
- Coordinates activities engaged in handling service orders and telephone complaints of customers by performing the following duties.
- Recommends corrective services to adjust customer complaints.
- Answers questions about service.
- Assigns loads to forklift drivers, responsible for pre-shift door check and assigning doors to yard hostlers.
- Keys information into computer to compile work volume statistics for accounting purposes and to keep records of customer service requests.
- Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites work-flow, as well as copying forms for daily use and ensuring next shift is set up with proper paperwork and correct trailers in doors.
- Issues written and oral instructions to drivers and vendors.
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency.
- Schedules inbound and outbound appointments, as well as signing in drivers, entering transactions in inventory software and notifying customer when a carrier is approximately 2 hours late.
- Reviews scheduled deliveries and alerts management when inventory levels are not at acceptable levels to meet customer needs.
- Able to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Candidate should possess inventory skills, strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must be computer literate and knowledgeable with Microsoft applications.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Must have at least one year dispatching, scheduling and customer service experience in production or distribution.
