Logistics Specialist – Construction
Direct Hire with Benefits, PTO, etc.
Location: Alpharetta, GA area
Summary:
Our client provides engineered solutions to maximize land use in the areas of concrete walls, block walls and arched culverts that facilitate construction. Our customers are land developers who are building commercial, industrial and residential developments. As a Logistics Specialist you will be responsible for assisting with the functions outlined below as delegated by the Operations Manager in accordance with the customer, suppliers and job schedule requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for coordination of trucks, equipment and materials:
- Schedule Truck Drivers (Mobilizing Equipment)
- Daily Pre-Trips (Safety Inspection)
- Move Schedule
- Materials (rebar, grid and block)
- Crews and Equipment (in conjunction with operations and PMs)
- Coordinate Mechanical Issue Resolution
- Equipment
- Trucks
- Site Visits
- Staging Area
- Trucker Access
- Drop location pin
- Rental Equipment
- Insure equipment
- Delivery Ticket
- Equipment returned acknowledgement and file
- Remove off insurance
- Coordinate equipment allocation (job by job, timing, billing) via the Job Folder
- Equipment Tracking and Location Monitoring
- GPS/Manual (if no GPS)
- Maintain job data as needs identified
- Identify Continuous Improvement Opportunities
- Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate or necessary by management

- Mechanical Condition and Maintenance Records (including cleanliness)
Qualifications:
- 2 – 5 years of experience in Logistics or Construction
- Class A CDL preferred but not required.
- Good memory and attention to detail.
- Teamwork and the ability to cooperate and work proactively with others.
- Good time management, attention to detail, written and oral communications skills required with the ability to work, interact and effectively communicate with all levels of leadership, teammates, employees and customers.
- Self-motivated; working independently or within a team; working under deadlines and pressure; willing to put in extra effort and hours as needed.
- Competent with computer software such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting and bending throughout the workday.
- Must be able to work in a construction environment, to include working in and around machinery, exposure to noise and chemicals, dust, etc.
- Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment as required by your position and/or Company policy.
Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
