What You'll Do
- Ensure safe operation, cleanliness and management of the Pilot Center while supporting 6S initiatives
- Define the strategic goals of the Pilot Center and new investment projects
- Run machinery, especially extrusion, water-based coating, and all other machinery pertaining to the trial request
- Coordinate and execute pilot plant trials and independent scheduling in alignment with other functions, such as product development and production
- Responsible for safety, deadlines, costs and the evaluation of technical trials, as well as the assessment of the result in terms of raw material, process and product properties
- Work closely with HQ to roll out LIMS databases and systems, analyzes the data (quality records, production data), documents and communicates the results
- Other duties as assigned
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering
- 3-5 years experience in a production environment of web coating and/or converting processes
- Deep Knowledge and experience in extrusion technology
- Strong knowledge of mathematics
- Good mechanical aptitude and a strong hands-on mentality
- The capability to troubleshoot equipment/process issues
- Strong proficiency in the use of Windows/Microsoft Office Suite
- Good communication skills to interact with colleagues
- Ability to stand at a workstation and/or move throughout the facility during most of the day
- Requires normal lifting to 50 lbs., use of both hands, correctable vision and no color-blindness
- Knowledge and experience with DOE methods
- An understanding of machine maintenance
