Tesla is seeking a highly motivated, "hands-on" individual to join the Maintenance Team for a novel battery chemical plant near Corpus Christi, TX. As a Millwright, you will interface closely with the Project and Operations teams to execute rotating equipment commissioning plans while also supporting equipment preservation, field repairs, and preventative maintenance activities as we transition into the core maintenance & reliability organization post startup. In support of this 24/7 operation, you will be periodically on-call, and may be required to occasionally work nights and weekends. Competitive pay rate selected based on relevant experience; overtime available as driven by business need.
- Provide hands-on machinery support for a variety of equipment across the site, including pumps, compressors, conveyors, fans, mixers, centrifuges, and blowers
- Validate equipment cleanliness, readiness, and initial run-in performance prior to process commissioning
- Populate Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) with BoMs and spare part requirements
- Work closely with vendors and third-party suppliers on the commissioning, start-up, and stabilization of machinery
- Support root-cause investigations and the development of risk-based, cost-effective solutions to prevent recurrence
- Perform a variety of equipment health monitoring tasks, including vibration monitoring, oil sampling, and other high frequency PMs
- Provide break-in support as needed to resolve machinery issues
- Display Initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to be resourceful and get the job done under pressure or tight timelines
- Work within a team environment and maintain a positive attitude
- Minimum 3 years related work experience as an Industrial Millwright/Machinist, 5 year preferred
- Ability to Enforce and follow all Safety rules and regulations
- Familiar with basic operation of machine shop equipment (lathe / mill / surface grinder)
- Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings, mechanical drawings and pneumatic schematics
- Familiar with basic measuring tools (Vernier, micrometers, height gauge etc.) to tolerances of .001"
- Experience with advanced measurement tools is preferred
- NCCER certifications are a plus but not required
