The Process Engineering team leads definition and execution of material flow design, analyzing and optimizing conveyance to support production, warehouse flow layouts, and processes related to production of all Tesla products. We are looking for a talented and highly motivated team leader who can lead the team in creating systematic workflows to unlock efficient material flows, drives business process, high throughput capabilities and operating models throughout our organization. This team is responsible for supporting all physical engineering needs of the Production Control team, including designing mechanisms for all material flow aspects from receiving, metering, including order fulfillment through sequencing and kitting, with solutions to safety and ergonomic hazards. The Process Engineering Associate Manager will not only lead by example but also performance manage the team where needed to generate the highest value from every employee while maintaining a high level of technical ability and drives the team to reach World Class Manufacturing.

Responsibilities
- Manage, mentor and lead a team of Process Engineers. Coach these Engineers in designing and optimizing material flow conveyance routes, facility layouts, Line Side Material Presentation Layouts by analyzing bottlenecks and buffer sizes using process modeling, as well as in creating documentation for training materials such as job cards, standard work, and standard operating procedures
- Collaborate with stakeholder teams like Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Warehousing, IT Systems Developers, GA Process Engineering, Material Planning to prioritize and maximize operational efficiency of Production Control Operations team
- Work with Internal Manufacturing Engineering and construction teams to ensure that equipment and layout designs align with overall material flow plan and vision for PC
- Develop innovative, cost-effective solutions with packaging team for part presentation, packaging density and sustainability
- Support the development of site-specific Logistics/Supply chain strategies, qualifying the benefits of each to drive the optimal modality and inventory balance
- Lead and assist Engineers in PFEP standardization and adoption of processes through the entire value stream of material flow
- Develop simulation models for all processes including Receiving, Warehousing, Staging, and Conveyance deliveries to the Production Line in order to achieve throughput goals
- Own, report on and drive improvements in material flow processes from the network of external warehouses to manufacturing facilities optimizing for space, cost, and service levels
- Develop business cases for improvement projects such as material handling - touch reduction, automation support etc., with a focus on workforce planning and management
- Develop and maintain KPI`s (Key Performance Indicators) in a regular basis to report progresses to the Top Management
Requirements
- Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience
- Extensive detailed Material Flow analysis experience to make data-driven decisions and summarize results for top management and executives
- Knowledge of lean principles, Aimplementation, logistics business systems, pre-determined motion and time standards
- Exemplary track record of high impact contributions both as an individual engineer and in a management capacity
- Demonstrated ability to meet commitments and deliver results in a fast-paced technical manufacturing environment
- Commanding knowledge of lean principles, logistics business systems, pre-determined motion and time standards
- Advanced skills in Excel, SQL, or other analytical tools for data mining and analysis
- Ability to manage and execute multiple large-scale projects simultaneously, dynamically adjusting priorities to meet changing business needs
- Demonstrated talent for implementing process flow improvements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, or similar 2D CAD software
