Electrical Design Engineer, Facilities

Tesla is looking for an innovative electrical engineer to join our Factory Design team in Fremont, CA. The electrical design team is responsible to design state of the art power distribution system to support main factory infrastructure and as well as manufacturing tool equipment. This position is for a full time, on-site.

Responsibilities

• Lead front-end electrical design for the following electrical deliverables: Single line diagram, panel schedule, grounding drawing, underground conduit drawing, power plan, lighting layout, and area classification drawing
• Responsible to prepare electrical deliverables with respect to code compliances and ensure every design maintains the highest level of quality
• Develop and improve project workflows and standards to ensure each design is consistently excellent
• Participate in on-field construction and commissioning activities by serving as the point of contact for technical questions and real-time issue resolution
• Interface with external EPC firms during bid and project execution phases as needed to ensure that design and specifications meet our Engineering Standards
• Support site operations as an electrical system owner - ensure infrastructure reliability and design/coordinate changes as needed

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• 0-2 years work experience in heavy commercial and industrial sector (manufacturing, datacenter, hospital, campus, etc)

Expected Compensation

$92,000 - $150,000/annual salary cash and stock awards benefits
