Responsibilities
- Design and develop service tools, fixtures, and equipment for the Tesla Semi Truck, including jigs, gauges, and testing equipment
- Work hands on to build and test your designs, collaborating closely with a team of expert service and engineering technicians
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify service tooling needs and develop solutions that meet the needs of our technicians and customers
- Work with design engineering teams to support evaluation of serviceability of vehicle components and systems
- Apply your expertise in manufacturing or repairing Class 8 trucks to inform design decisions and ensure tooling meets the needs of our products
- Designing and develop tooling and equipment for our other vehicle platforms for service centers around the globe
- Develop and maintain detailed design documentation, including CAD models, drawings, and specifications
Requirements
- Ideal candidate would be a multitalented engineer eager to learn and take on a wide variety of different engineering disciplines to create cohesive and integrated solutions
- 5 years of expierence in mechanical design, manufacturing, or repair of Class 8 trucks
- Demonstrated expierence developing solutions, documentation, and supporting the deployment of those solutions. Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for cost (DFC) principles
- Additional experience in electrical or electronic systems a strong plus
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field, or equivelent experience
- Proficiency in CAD design tools, such as CATIA or SolidWorks
- Strong inclination for first principals' problem solving. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, and assembly

$106,400 - $206,520/annual salary cash and stock awards benefits
