We are seeking a talented Mechanical Systems Engineer for our critical infrastructure facilities team at Gigafactory Nevada - Semi. This role will support commissioning, startup, operations, and maintenance of facilities equipment (Compressors, Chillers, HVAC systems etc.) on site along with system efficiency, capacity, and quality improvements for the new Semi factory.

Responsibilities
- Monitor and troubleshoot all mechanical facilities equipment, including HVAC systems, pumps, heat exchangers, compressors, and chillers etc. Identify and implement improvement projects
- Effectively respond and support facilities operational process issues in a 24/7 production setting
- Support cross functional teams to develop commissioning, startup, and operations plans for mechanical equipment and systems (e.g., HVAC, air handling system, compressed air systems etc.)
- Support maintenance and reliability engineering team to increase system reliability and efficiency
- Interface heavily with design, construction and installation teams to assure quality system delivery. Interact with tenants and ensure all engineering requests are effectively addressed
- Understand and apply Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) concepts and root cause failure analysis to open-ended problems
- Communicate effectively and timely to stakeholders and the required engineering team
- Be able to prioritize and manage a heavy workload to ensure high quality and productivity
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Operation experience in datacenter or semiconductor type facilities is preferred
- Intermediate knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and systems, including pumps, pneumatics, fans, flow meters, air handling systems, industrial chilled water, heating, process piping, rotating equipment, mass and heat transfer
- Knowledge and experience with writing sequences of operation for process mechanical system
- Strong experience in data and system analysis
- System commissioning and startup experience a plus
