What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cell Materials Mechanical Test Technician position at Tesla?
What You'll Do
- Material Level Testing
- Perform routine material level testing by following SOPs
- Operate analytical equipment for materials characterization
- Perform mechanical testing (tensile, compression on Instron or similar)
- Document, compile and analyze data and test reports and communicate results with the Tesla team
- Work with engineers to design, set-up and execute testing procedures
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and train users on equipment
- Maintain equipment calibrations
- Help create SOPs and online trainings tools for equipment
What You'll Bring
- 2 years working in a technical position with experience in a laboratory setting
- Familiarity with cell testing equipment (e.g., Instron-compression, tensile, 3pt bend, shear, Mark-10)
- Must be hands-on and have good dexterity (you will be handling small parts in a glovebox)
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Meticulous attitude in data tracking, observation and note taking

$24.40 - $43.20/hour cash and stock awards benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
