What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chemical Engineer, Lithium position at Tesla?
The Technology Team is responsible for the commercialization and implementation of production processes for Tesla's Lithium and Recycling organization at GWh scale. We are looking for a highly motivated Chemical / Process Engineer to support commissioning and operations efforts at Tesla's new Gulf Coast Lithium Refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas. Through a high degree of creative freedom, you'll be working alongside a muti-disciplinary team on the execution of high value and globally impactful projects with a novel approach.
Responsibilities
Monitor plant performance and generate optimization pathways for a first-of-a-kind refinery
Provide technical support and guidance throughout the installation and commissioning process
Conduct technical reviews and evaluations of equipment designs to identify areas for improvement and optimization
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical / Process Engineering or equivalent experience
Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Proficiency in SYSCAD and PI
Experience in commissioning of a refinery at commercial scale
Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles, including fluid dynamics, inorganic chemistry and thermodynamics
Experience in consolidating large datasets and using data visualizations tools (e.g. Power BI, Powerpoint, Excel)
2-5 years of industry experience
Ability to communicate insights from large, complex datasets in a simplified manner
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
