What To Expect
Tesla's Cell Infrastructure team is looking for an experienced Commissioning Lead to oversee commissioning and startup activities for a new energy infrastructure facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project commissioning and proven leadership skills. As the site commissioning lead, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of Tesla’s commissioning framework. This role requires high technical expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage and guide a team.
What You'll Do
Lead site commissioning activities, developing and implementing a project-specific commissioning plan for each assigned scope Integrate project, commissioning, and stakeholder (Manufacturing/Operations/Facilities) requirements into the overall commissioning plan Prepare an execution strategy and handover plan in collaboration with the CxAlloy Completion program and its Lead. Ensure clear communication with the project organization Ensure Tesla’s codes, standards, and specifications are followed during commissioning of mechanical activities. Drive the preparation of materials, equipment, and other resources needed for initial commissioning activities, projecting needs 3 months in advance. Work with the QA team to verify equipment inspections before installation and hold team members accountable for schedule adherence and delays affecting commissioning Develop and execute a commissioning schedule, including a 3-week look-ahead plan, with a focus on timely and efficient execution Understand system sequencing required to commission for Manufacturing, Operations, and Facilities to ensure startup and production initiation As part of the Project Management Team, manage and communicate commissioning risks. Oversee commissioning costs, submit funding requests, and coordinate rental equipment and material needs while maintaining the commissioning budget
What You'll Bring
Minimum of 5 years of experience in leading commissioning operations Strong technical knowledge and experience with mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, power distribution, generators, UPS systems, and fire suppression systems Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing a team Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and documentation skills with the ability to understand complex problems and distill the message into a clear plan Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgments under pressure
