What are the responsibilities and job description for the E&I Civil Construction Field Engineer, Lithium Refinery position at Tesla?
As a Field Engineer you will be playing a critical role in the construction of Tesla's first lithium refinery plant near Corpus Christi, TX. You will pro-actively aid the Construction Management team in front-line field support and coordination. This role will require collaboration across functional groups to resolve technical design issues, ensure quality installations, track and report cost / schedule metrics, and model safe work practices. This is a role that requires sound technical judgement and creative problem solving skills to support field operations.
Responsibilities
Review and approve contractor quality plans and procedures
Develop Inspection Test Plans with contractors per project specifications
Construction QC / QA - perform / witness required inspections of self-perform and contractor construction work
Management of RFI / FCN / NCR processes
Review and consolidate turnover documentation
Identify and provide a path of resolution to technical field issues as they arise in collaboration with engineering, applicable contractors, and other parties as required
Coordinate third party inspections as required
Requirements
Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills are a must
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, and scheduling software (Microsoft Projects)
Proven ability to identify field issues and propose efficient solutions
3 years of relevant industry experience (heavy industrial, oil & gas, complex chemical plants)
Previous experience on $200M projects, preferably with experience on both "owner" and "contractor" side
