What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Engineer, Semi position at Tesla?
Tesla is looking for a qualified Electrical Engineer to support our factory Infrastructure Engineering team in Sparks, NV. You will play a pivotal role in the design of complex manufacturing facilities.
Responsibilities
Ultimate system owner for electrical equipment and material specification
Review conceptual design from junior engineers and identify technical and financial risks. Suggest alternative solution which mitigates risks
Lead front-end electrical design and review / stamp following electrical deliverables in single line diagram, panel schedule, grounding drawing, underground conduit drawing, power plan, lighting layout, area classification drawing
Responsible to review electrical deliverables with respect to code compliances and ensure every design maintains the highest level of quality
Simulate and analyze electrical engineering study (short circuit study, load flow analysis, arc flash study)
Breaker settings
Develop and improve project workflows and standards to ensure each design is consistently excellent
Participate in on-field construction and commissioning activities by serving as the point of contact for technical questions and real-time issue resolution
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
8 years work experience in heavy commercial and industrial sector (manufacturing, datacenter, hospital, campus, etc)
Proficient to NEC / CEC requirement / exceptions
At minimum, two projects acting as Engineer of Record (EOR)
Performed electrical engineering study & breaker settings (EasyPower, SKM, ETAP)
Ability to communicate clearly and interface at an executive level
Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) with ability to get NV PE through reciprocity
