What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Technician, Cell Engineering position at Tesla?
What You'll Do
- Build test cells such as coin cells and pouch cells and start tests on electronic equipment
- Dissect battery cells to make measurements and harvest the components
- Keep accurate records of the dissection and cell builds in an organized and timely manner
- Help with manual tasks around the lab such as cleaning the cell parts, organizing lab benches and supplies, and general equipment maintenance
- ~80% of time will be hands-on tasks including the 4 tasks above
- Monitor and document testing status, communicate any issues, and help find the solutions
What You'll Bring
- Above average manual dexterity and visual acuity are required to perform delicate assembly tasks
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures with a high degree of accuracy and repeatability
- Working knowledge of Windows and MS Office
- Ability and passion to perform hands-on tasks
- Good communication skills and high attention to detail
- Experience working with hazardous chemicals
- Experience working with air-sensitive materials and/or battery materials is preferred but not required
- Experience using glove box and/or battery cyclers is preferred but not required

$24.40 - $50.40/hour cash and stock awards benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
