What To Expect
As a Facilities I&C Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing instrumentation, equipment, and control systems. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, critical thinking, and collaboration with the entire Facilities Operations/Maintenance department. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliable operation of control systems and instrumentation, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of the facility.
What You'll Do
Commission new instrumentation, control systems, and equipment to Tesla operational standards Calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation, equipment, and control systems, ensuring optimal functionality within the facility Collaborate with the Facilities Operations/Maintenance department to perform preventive maintenance, address trouble calls, and handle emergency maintenance as needed Troubleshoot, program, and improve control systems, including PLCs, controllers, and final control elements to support automated processes Assist in troubleshooting, upgrading, and installing new control systems, ensuring seamless integration and operation Measure and monitor levels, pressures, temperatures, flow, and analytical processes, ensuring accuracy and reliability of data Use complex electrical schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring systems operate correctly and efficiently
What You'll Bring
Experience commissioning industrial processes, including but not limited to: Steam, HVAC, chilled water, fire / toxic services Preferred Technical Degree in Electrical/Electronics, Instrumentation, or equivalent experience Ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams, electrical prints & schematics, loop drawings, P&IDs, C&E matrix, and Control Narratives Strong skills in troubleshooting motor controls, drives, and electronic components and proficient with Siemens S7 / TIA Portal, V18 Experience with Ignition and HMI/SCADA software NFPA 70E Certification Ability to work at high elevations (up to 60 ft.) and lift at least 50 lbs. regularly, perform repetitive hand and wrist motions, and twist and bend the body
