What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Mechanical Hydronics Engineer position at Tesla?
You will support daily operations and work on process system efficiency, capacity, and quality improvement.
Responsibilities
Monitor all mechanical equipment within a commercial building, including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, and building automation systems
Demonstrate general experience troubleshooting and improving Process mechanical system
Interact with tenants and ensure all engineering requests are effectively addressed
Work with on-site contractors and vendors
Effectively respond to and resolve operations process issues
Implement safety programs and protocols
Support maintenance and reliability engineering team to increase facility system reliability and efficiency.
Identify and implement improvement projects
Interface heavily with design and installation teams to assure quality system delivery.
Understand and apply Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) concepts and root cause failure analysis to open-ended problems
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or 3 years of relevant working experience
Operation experience in hydronics for industrial / pharmaceutical / bio-tech / semiconductor type facilities is preferred
Intermediate knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and systems, including pumps, pneumatics, fans, flow meters, air handling systems, industrial chilled water, heating, process piping, rotating equipment, mass and heat transfer
Strong troubleshooting background and issue resolution
Ability to demonstrate solid data and system analysis skill
System commissioning and startup experience a plus
