What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instrumentation & Controls Field Execution Commissioning Specialist position at Tesla?
The primary function of this role is to successfully accomplish testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, start up and troubleshooting of instrumentation and controls systems across Gigafactory Nevada. Under supervision of the Commissioning Lead, you will perform loop checks, commissioning, start up and troubleshooting on various instruments related to industrial buildings. This includes but is not limited to instrumentation on hydronics, compressed air, wastewater, HVAC, chemical and life safety systems.
Responsibilities
- Participation in Construction Completion walkdown and develop list of deficiencies to ensure a completed system is handed over to commissioning team
- Perform on site pre-commissioning, commissioning and trouble shooting activities on various plant assets. This includes configuration and calibration of instruments and control systems including sensors, transmitters, controllers, actuators etc, VFD's configuration, motor IDs, and networking
- Configure, and calibrate a variety of instrumentation and control systems, including sensors, transmitters, controllers, and actuators
- Perform loop checks and Complete I&C commissioning checklists in the CMS system
- Work closely with external vendors and internal PLC programming team to ensure I&C logic for successful commissioning and start ups
- Support mechanical / electrical / process commissioning team during C&E and SOO testing
- Participate in commissioning completion walkdowns with facilities operations and maintenance teams
