Tesla is seeking to hire a Mechanical Commissioning Lead to join its' Gigafactory Texas Commissioning team in Austin, TX. We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals. Join us to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy.
Responsibilities
- Manage the commissioning mechanical team, including commissioning system owners and field execution supervision. Establish and implement project commissioning mechanical plan for each assigned scope. Must also be able to independently commission pumps, HVAC units, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, etc.
- Integrate project, commissioning, and owner's (Manufacturing / Operations / Facilities) requirements into the overall commissioning plan
- Prepare an Execution Strategy and handover plan with CxAlloy Completion program and its Lead. Communicate through Project Organization
- Verify Tesla codes, standards, and specifications are correctly implemented and followed during the execution of commissioning mechanical activities. Drives the preparation, materials, equipment needed for all initial commissioning activities projecting 3 months in advance. With QA team, assures commissioning mechanical team members are inspecting equipment prior to installation and addresses and hold others accountable of the established schedule and any delays effecting commissioning mechanical team
- Plan and execute mechanical commissioning schedule activities and develop a 3 week look ahead with vision to execute
- Must have clear understanding of sequencing of systems needed to commission for Manufacturing / Operations / Facilities to start up and manufacturing to initiate production
- Manage and bring awareness as part of the Project Management Team, commissioning risks. Manage commissioning cost. Submits funding request, rental equipment and material requests and maintains commissioning mechanical budget
