What are the responsibilities and job description for the Motor Controls Engineer, Vehicle Controls position at Tesla?
As a member of the Motor Controls team, you will model, design, implement, test and benchmark the motor controls of current and future Tesla traction motor drives and low voltage drives. You'll have the opportunity to develop motor control algorithms that will enhance the performance of impactful technologies, such as traction machines, streer-by-wire systems, and Optimus, driving advancements in efficiency and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Help define requirements for motor control software and interfacing hardware components including voltage and current sensors, power stages, speed sensors
- Understand, drive design of, and implement motor controller functionality, behaviors, and algorithms
- Develop, test, and validate motor control algorithms in the laboratory and in-vehicle
- Maintain awareness of and influence research and development in key component technologies that influence future inverter / motor designs and motor control
- Advance Tesla Motors intellectual property in electric motor design and motor controls

133,440 - $355,920 / annual salary cash and stock awards benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
