What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nonconforming Materials Supervisor, Energy position at Tesla?
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to lead, support, and manage a team of NCM associates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate is a self-starter with strong leadership capabilities that can manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time. This leader will build a team that can work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality and other departments, in leading Process and Non-Conforming Material initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Align projects to drive department goals by managing operations and driving metrics in critical areas of the manufacturing floor
- Monitor, manage and countermeasure MMS and WIP accumulations and monitor defect trends and escalate to responsible engineering, quality, and production teams
- Disposition of special case non-conforming materials that come from the manufacturing line and support issue resolution including root cause investigation & corrective action tracking
- Ensure quality standards are being met throughout the entire rework process and support no defects escaping the NCM area
- Ensure processes provide a high level of safety and ergonomic compliance
- Management of team includes proactively planning for labor needs in light of production ramp up, communicating job expectations, performing employee performance and objectives reviews, and managing team in alignment of company policies and procedures
- Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams' safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations
