Tesla’s Industrial Engineering team is seeking a Revit Designer to drive the development of factory layouts and material flow designs for current and future Gigafactories. In this role, you will empower engineers to deliver innovative, scalable factory designs by optimizing Revit workflows, automating data processes, and maintaining high standards of model integrity. Your expertise will directly impact the efficiency and feasibility of Tesla’s manufacturing expansion.
What You'll Do
Train teams in Revit best practices and maintain Tesla’s BIM standards Develop Revit families, templates, and scripts to streamline design processes Automate data exports from Revit for integration with analysis tools (MATLAB, Python, etc.) Troubleshoot Revit, AutoCAD, and Autodesk software issues Partner with VDC teams to establish Revit/CAD base files for new factories Create 3D visualizations (Revit, Enscape, Lumion) to communicate design intent Resolve design clashes with equipment, process, and construction teams
What You'll Bring
Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Design, or equivalent experience 2 years of Revit design/drafting experience in manufacturing or industrial layouts Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Dynamo, Navisworks, and Bluebeam Experience with parametric Revit family design and BIM standards Ability to automate workflows (data exports, family updates) Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical collaboration Preferred: Experience with factory simulations (FlexSim, Siemens Tecnomatix) or Python,C# scripting for Revit API
