What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal 5S Production Associate position at Tesla?

Responsibilities:
- Escalate technical problems to the appropriate support groups and leaders. Follow safety guidelines & procedures and maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Evaluates the assembly processes and equipment to look for continuous improvement opportunities
- Complete other duties as assigned/support cross-functional teams
- First level investigation of any quality or safety issues, open items and QDN’s, with suggestions to prevent reoccurrence in the future
- Maintaining taping, marking and labeling standards, picking up debris, sorting, sweeping/cleaning floors, and equipment wipe down and wire management.
- Maintaining 5S signage requirements and standards. Inspection and reporting of infrastructure and workplace deficiencies. Physical/visual audits and reporting of all assigned areas to ensure 5S standardization is in place
Requirements:
- Prior production experience preferred
- Able to read, speak, and understand English, both written and verbal
- Comfortable learning new technology
- Must be reliable, have good initiative, be committed, and be quality focused. Must have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail
- Previous 5S/Six Sigma experience preferred
- Complete other duties as assigned/support cross-functional teams
Essential Physical Demands
- Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
- Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35lbs
- Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift, reach, stoop, lay, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time
- Frequently and repetitively, climb a 10” step and backdown
- Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, or hearing
- Potential exposure to confined spaces and hazardous materials
- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
