What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Energy Network Application Engineer position at Tesla?
Tesla Energy Application Engineering team is looking for a Senior Network Application Engineer with a deep knowledge of networking solution development in the energy sector. As a Network Application Engineer, you will be responsible for the development of high performing, reliable and robust networking solutions for Energy Products. You will work in a cross-functional team to define hardware and software requirements for networking in Industrial Energy environments. You will lead the development, validation, and rollout of the networking solution in Tesla Energy products. You will be responsible for optimizing and tracking network reliability, cost, and performance measures. As a key technical member of the cross-functional Applications Engineering team within the Energy Projects group, you will be integral to Tesla's mission of accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy.
Responsibilities
- Write functional requirements / specifications documents, test procedures, and product documentation for network-related features and procedures
- Lead network product development and work cross functionally with teams involved, including network operations, project engineering, hardware, and software teams for development of new networking products and applications, and supporting existing network products and features
- Aligning Tesla Energy's network offering with applicable regulatory, and contractual requirements for renewable energy power plant, SCADA systems
- Develop tools and processes for network commissioning, self-test, monitoring, performance diagnostics to streamline network deployment and operation on Energy products
- Coordinate definition and execution of network equipment hardware testing with system testing and network operations teams
- Perform network modeling, failure mode analysis, and future product and feature planning
- Support productization and commercialization of Tesla Energy's networking solutions for customers

111,200 - $246,720 / annual salary cash and stock awards benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
