What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Security Engineer, Vulnerability Management position at Tesla?
Tesla is continuously pushing the boundaries of innovation in transportation, energy generation, energy storage, self-driving, AI hardware and software. Infrastructure Security Engineering under the Information Security organization is responsible for building and operating security capabilities to measure and continuously improve the security posture of our global on-premises datacenter infrastructure and public cloud footprint. Our on-premises IT infrastructure includes AI platforms that powers our AI endeavors. As a Senior Security Engineer, you will be expected to mature vulnerability management program. You will closely work with several internal teams to identify, assess, prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities across several platforms including public cloud, private cloud, Kubernetes clusters and AI platforms. You will actively participate in security reviews, risk analysis and security solution design.
Responsibilities
- Participate in vulnerability scanning and assessment activities across a diverse technology environment & utilize various vulnerability scanning tools and techniques to identify and prioritize vulnerabilities
- Perform root cause analysis of vulnerabilities and work with cross-functional teams to prioritize and implement effective remediation strategies
- Track remediation efforts and ensure timely resolution of vulnerabilities
- Evaluate the impact of emerging threats and vulnerabilities to prioritize and remediate
- Build and operate tools / automation with a DevSecOps mentality to identify security vulnerabilities early in the development lifecycle
- Automate vulnerability scanning, assessment, and reporting processes to improve efficiency and scalability
- Perform malware assessment to identify and mitigate potential malware threats to the organization's systems and data
- Collaborate with Security Operations, Detection, and Incident Response teams to develop detection signals and incident response playbooks / tooling to support their functions
- Develop and maintain documentations for security tools and solutions
- Perform security reviews, threat modelling, risk assessments and identify attack vectors
