What are the responsibilities and job description for the Structural Designer, Lithium Refinery position at Tesla?
Tesla is looking for a highly skilled, highly motivated Structural Designer to be part of Infrastructure engineering team located in Texas. The role will work on greenfield and existing facilities interfacing with cross-discipline teams in a fast-paced environment producing innovative detailed designs structural systems that are fully integrated with manufacturing and refining processes.
What You'll Do
- Support the design and construction of new projects and renovations to existing industrial, manufacturing, and office facilities at Tesla Lithium Refinery and other Tesla Facilities
- Coordinate structural design on multidisciplinary project teams including Mechanical, Electrical, Piping/Plumbing (MEP) professionals
- Manage high-quality BIM (Revit) models, develop 3D engineering designs in Revit, and prepare plan drawings, section/elevations, installation details, and schedules for permit and construction
- Utilize and improve structural design standards by working with the BIM/CAD support team to achieve consistent results and incorporate new design into the existing facility models
- Assist with structural analysis and design of concrete and steel structures
- Assist with the design of structural engineering solutions for existing building structure retrofits, design of equipment anchorages and assessment of existing site conditions
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of civil/structural drafting for building or industrial projects, or equivalent
- Experience developing BIM Content: Families - parametric, formula nested, type catalogs
- Expert knowledge of Revit Structural and proficiency with AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight; prioritize and communicate assignments, and a willingness to work overtime to meet deadlines
- Able to multi-task and be flexible/adapt to rapidly changing project requirements/timelines
- Self-directed, highly motivated self-starter with solid writing and verbal communication skills
