Tesla’s Low Voltage Controller Supplier Industrialization team is responsible for critical complex electronic assembly development and qualification activities at suppliers. This role will develop, qualify, scale up and optimize manufacturing process & quality systems for complex electronic assembly. In this role, you will work closely with many organizations both internally as well as external to Tesla, taking new complex electronic assembly designs from initial concept through into full production. The job involves traveling to suppliers in different regions globally and on-the-spot critical decision making.

What You'll Do
Provide leadership for New Product Introduction (NPI) at Suppliers, Lead supplier improvements in scalability, cost, and quality Conduct drawing and CAD reviews with suppliers & engineering teams to ensure proper requirements/GD&T callouts are defined, aligned and system in place to control them Coach/Drive suppliers for design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews and use data driven approach (SPC, DOE etc.) to establish optimal processing parameters, manufacturing methods, gauging, error-proofing, testing & monitoring Accountable for supplier audits to ensure their ability to meet part performance, delivery, and reliability expectations Collaborate with Tesla Design, Quality, and Manufacturing to determine the ideal performance specifications and supplier metrics Guide suppliers in developing exceptionally robust processes and procedures to promote efficient and seamless production of high-quality products Provide input on new or alternative materials for improved design, manufacturability, or cost reduction Owner of RFQ's and contract management - ensure Non-Disclosure Agreements, General Terms & Conditions, Piece Price Agreements, and other related contracts are negotiated, agreed and appropriately documented before business is initiated Drive negotiation for piece price and product development to ensure that Tesla’s pricing meets best-landed-cost expectations as well as Supplier Industrialization standards of Best-In-Class quality
What You'll Bring
Degree or relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering 2-3 years of experience in an electronic assembly manufacturing company Demonstrated experience in developing and sustaining high volume end to end manufacturing process and quality systems for multiple mechanical components and sub-assemblies Working knowledge of SMT process and understanding of PCBAs and understanding of Firmware flashing and end-of-line/Functional testers Proficient in performing drawing reviews, GD&T (tolerance stack ups), metrology, statistical data analysis (SPC, DOE, sampling plans, etc.) Excellent team building skills in dealing with suppliers, peers, and other functional areas Strong technical writing ability and an ability to explain complex issues in a concise and plain manner Ability to communicate and direct supplier activities at the management level Ability to travel domestic and international 20 - 30% at short notice

$85,760 - $197,160/annual salary cash and stock awards benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
