We are looking for a skilled and motivated Supply Operations Manager, responsible for sourcing raw materials to support our in-house foundry and casting operations. This role will report to our Supply Chain Manager and in parallel may be an active sourcing resource supporting our various Engineering groups within Tesla. The Supply Operations Manager will support the development, implementation and management of strategies to provide Tesla with optimal supply assurance, pricing, quality and delivery performance. The Supply Operations Manager will build and leverage strong working relationships with our internal manufacturing team and external suppliers to ensure cost, quality and delivery targets are met. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, with ability to thrive in fast paced and dynamic environment.
What You'll Do
- Owner of RFQ's and contract management - ensure Non-Disclosure Agreements, General Terms & Conditions, Piece Price Agreements, and other related contracts are negotiated, agreed and appropriately documented before business is initiated
- Drive raw material price negotiation process to ensure that Tesla’s commodity pricing meet Best-In-Class expectations, while meeting Supplier Industrialization standards of Best-In-Class quality, in addition to driving continual cost reduction and avoidance initiatives through ad-hoc price negotiations
- Monitor secondary metal industry trends, and actively partner with the manufacturing team to lower total cost of operations and identify and mitigate supply and demand risk
- Manage respective supplier relationships and performance, including but not limited to dispute resolution, supplier scorecards, and periodic business reviews
- Participate in any operations reviews, change control meetings, and other technical discussions with engineering and manufacturing partners
- Communicate key supply, cost, and/or quality issues with management teams and develop corrective action plans to mitigate identified risks
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management or Engineering, evidence of exceptional ability, or equivalent experience
- 5 years of experience in supply chain management, metal commodity management, preferably aluminum or secondary scrap market; foundry and casting operations knowledge is a plus
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams and influence timely decisions with key stakeholders to support our mission
- Demonstrated ability to work in team environment to achieve business objectives
- Passionate about Tesla’s mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy
- Ability to travel up to 15%, possibly on short notice
