The Center for Family Life in Sunset Park is seeking a Program Coordinator/ESOL Instructor to provide support and coordination for the Adult Literacy Program located at a migrant shelter in Midtown Manhattan.

Full-time ESOL Project Coordinator position
The Center for Family Life in Sunset Park is seeking a Program Coordinator/ESOL Instructor to provide support and coordination for the Adult Literacy Program located at a migrant shelter in Midtown Manhattan.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Designing and executing outreach, recruitment, screening, pre-assessment, and enrollment of new applicants to meet program goals
- Conducting intake and assessments (English language testing (BEST Plus)
- Collaborating with ESL instructors on curriculum design, scheduling, assessment, and classroom performance to ensure successful student outcomes.
- Providing case management to students which includes creating individual training plans, addressing barriers, referrals to social services, and observing confidentiality.
- Identifying and establishing reciprocal referral relationships with other training providers, social service agencies, and local immigrant organizations to meet students” needs.
- Participating in funder update meetings and reporting activities,
- Ensuring student records are complete for audit.
- Managing database system ensuring all student data is entered timely and accurately
- The coordinator might be asked to cover classes for teachers when necessary
- Minimum of a bachelor”s degree (B.A.) required, preferably in Education, ESL, TESOL, English, or a related area, and at least 2 years of relevant teaching experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working in program coordination (scheduling, staffing, etc.) preferred
- Able to work a flexible schedule, some evening hours will be required
- Able to travel between sites in Brooklyn and Manhattan
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and demonstrated willingness to take initiative and assume other responsibilities as needed
