Maintenance Technician

Tesoro Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join one of our long-term clients team at one of their properties in Hermantown, MN (55811). The ideal candidate will have 2 years' experience in residential maintenance with plumbing, electrical and HVAC, have experience with unit turns, have knowledge of basic maintenance, be self-motivated, be able to organize multiple tasks throughout the day and is self-sufficient. No special certifications are needed for this role. This role is contract to hire (90 days before conversion).

This role will be working with (1) building that was built in 1993, 166 Units, 2 stories

Salary: $24-$25/hour DOQ. This role is a contract to hire role and will be 90 days before conversion.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 9am-5pm. On-Call coverage would eventually be applicable upon conversion.

Responsibilities and Job Duties:

• Prepares make ready apartments, which may include painting, carpet repairs, cleaning, general repairs, housekeeping duties, and any necessary duties to provide our residents with that quality move in experience.
• Responds to resident requests in a timely manner and with a professional attitude.
• Has knowledge of maintenance functions such as plumbing, HVAC, basic electric, general carpentry skills, painting, and snow removal (if applicable).
• Maintains grounds, pools/ hot tubs, common areas, and dog park amenities to keep clean, operational, and safe for our residents.
• On call scheduling may be required to respond to after hour emergencies.
• Reports any maintenance concerns on vacant units, models, and common areas, to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Performs maintenance as scheduled by the Maintenance supervisor.
• Knowledge of state, local, and federal fair housing laws.
• Attends and participates in training programs as required by company.
• Performs all duties as assigned, in a timely manner.
• Delivers superior customer service and always represents the company in a professional manner.
• Dresses per company uniform and professional appearance standards.
• Maintains all safety procedures and safeguards all company tools and equipment.
• Achieves high productivity through reliable and punctual on-site attendance, and timely reports any tardiness and/or attendance issues to immediate supervisor.
• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 2 years' experience in residential maintenance.
• At least 2 years' experience with EPA/Magic Pak experience.
• CPO experience is highly preferred.
• Experience in unit turns.
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation as this role will eventually have on-call.
• Be able to pass a Kari Koskinen background check.
