What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supportive Housing Coordinator - Forest Lake position at Tesoro Group?
Tesoro Group is seeking an experienced Supportive Housing Coordinator to join one of our long-term client's team at (2) Properties in Forest Lake, MN (55025). The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years' experience in an equivalent role, and at least 2 years of experience implementing Human Services programs that address mental health, chemical health and the homeless population. This position is a contract role that will be expected to last 60-120 days with the potential to go long-term and permanent with the right candidate.
This role will be working with (2) buildings Site 1: built in 2020, 45 units and 3 stories and Site 2: built in 2023, 53 units and 4 stories.
Salary: $28-$30/hour DOQ. This role is contract to hire (90 days before conversion if applicable).
Schedule: Monday – Friday 830am – 5pm – some weekend availability required during peak seasons.
Responsibilities and Job Duties:
- Plan, coordinate, promote, manage, and document the delivery of resident-centered
programs and services with a focus on housing stability. - Work collaboratively with property managers to provide lease education and support
residents in overcoming challenges to lease compliance. - Support resident associations, resident-led activities, and leadership development by
providing technical and resource support. Develop collaborative community relationships
to support resident housing stability. - Oversee site budget, prepare and document client case notes on a weekly basis, develop
and distribute monthly resident communication. - Promotes positive relationships within the community and surrounding neighborhood.
- Cover the phone line and email for other sites remotely from your site, one week out of the
month, and as needed during staffing shortages. - Meet quarterly with resident community board and send out letters to the resident board
- quarterly with agenda for meetings.
- Maintain site existing grant requirements.
- Aids residents to plan and execute existing community building activities such as digital and
financial literacy education, job and resume building events, compassion resilience
classes, family game night, resident coffee hours, etc. - Coordinates publication of monthly newsletter.
- Manage monthly grocery food deliveries from local food pantries.
- Manage Summer Meal site and attend all external mandatory trainings.
- Oversee summer meal site volunteers, meet and greet and assign volunteers tasks.
Team Participation - Actively participates in Advantage Services team meetings and promotes
collaborative problem solving and professional development. - Works collaboratively with property management staff and other departments of
the company.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Be able to pass a DHS background check before employment.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in related field or at least three years' experience in a related field.
- Two years of experience implementing human service programs focused on ethnically, socially and/or economically diverse populations.
- Two years of experience implementing programs that address mental health, chemical health, and/or co-occurring disorders and homelessness.
- Two years of experience implementing programs that use evidence-based models of intervention (e.g. IMR, supported employment, supportive housing).
- Be Certified in CPR and First Aid or can become certified within six months of starting position.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience working within diverse communities, which include people of various ages, gender, sexual orientations, national origins, income levels, ability levels, religious affiliations, races, and languages.
- Experience utilizing MS Office and web-based programs.
- Ability to respond to specific property management concerns regarding individual resident lease adherence within 24 hours of being informed of a concern (within one hour in emergency situations).
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Provide proof of a current and valid driver's license issued in the state of residency.
- Have or be willing to obtain adequate automobile insurance.
- Meet the company Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) criteria.
- Have access to a reliable vehicle to transport residents.
