Tessa’s House is a tribute to her legacy, a place where women can find hope, healing, and a fresh start. Our 16-bed residential treatment center provides a 30-day rehabilitation program, along with an 8-bed detoxification unit for those in need of medical stabilization before beginning treatment.
At Tessa’s House, we believe that true recovery extends beyond abstinence—it requires transformation, empowerment, and a strong support system. That’s why we offer an integrated, evidence-based approach that gives our residents the best chance at long-term success.
Our program is designed to provide our clients with the opportunity to receive compassionate support with individualized treatment. We provide recognized treatment approaches and opportunities to practice mindfulness, creative pursuits, yoga and plan to grow and add alternative programs such as equine therapy, nature therapy and skills for living in recovery and building personal and career development.
ROLE: RECOVERY SUPPORT SPECIALIST
The Recovery Support Staff facilitates and supports the social, emotional and wellbeing of clients. The RSS develops a sense of community among clients and actively participates the residence life system. The RSS serves as a positive role model to the clients as well as ensures that all policies are implemented and followed. The RSS has their CRMA (Certified Residential Medication Aide) certification or will complete in their first month of hire. They are responsible for administering and assisting with self-administered medications and treatments in a safe, proper and accurate manner. They will record and document the administration of medications, reporting incidents, sustain knowledge of Resident Rights, while maintaining patient confidentiality, and provide other support duties as required. The RSS team are essential to the success of the program and provide support, guidance and hope for residents on their recovery journey.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Medication Administration: Administers ordered medications and treatments to assigned residents. Follows all steps in administering medication in accordance with all company policies and procedures related to medication administration, correct resident, medication, dosage, form, and time. Maintains accurate documentation of all medications and treatments on assigned residents.
· Program Support: Assists with and monitors daily living skills (cooking, cleaning, routines, etc). Assists with supportive implementation of individual treatment plans of client. Provides support and supervision of the residential milieu and maintains an emotional and physically safe and trauma informed working environment. Maintains professional boundaries with clients and interacts with them in appropriate manner.
o Supports and assists team members in crisis situations.
o Models positive community building, professionalism, integrity and healthy recovery skills.
· Program Role:
o Supports group activities, client needs and client appointments.
o Administers first aid if needed. Transport residents in a company vehicle to and from necessary appointments
o Work assigned shifts (day or night)
o Reports any change in the residents’ condition or other pertinent information.
o Performs housekeeping duties as assigned.
- Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of the common areas, which includes removing any trash, sanitizing hard surfaces, sweeping, and mopping etc.
- Assists in ensuring a drug and alcohol free milieu.
o Demonstrates initiative by seeking and accepting new assignments and responsibilities.
Familiar with and follows the facilities policies and procedures
Promotes and maintains positive relationships with peers and residents and works collaboratively with all departments.
· Ability to remain pleasant, cheerful, tactful, and courteous at all times.
· Completes assignments in a timely, safe, and thorough manner.
· Ability to cooperate with other personnel and to resolve differences as needed.
· Willingness to accept suggestions and supervision from supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma
- Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA) or willing to complete training in the first month of hire.
- Focus on a high-level of confidentiality.
- Ability to work with independence, flexibility, good judgment, verbal communication, creating a safe environment, positive customer relationships.
