Tessa’s House is a 16-bed residential treatment center dedicated to helping women heal from substance use challenges. Our mission is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care in a supportive and structured environment, giving our residents the tools they need for lasting recovery.
We believe that true recovery goes beyond abstinence—it requires transformation,
empowerment, and a strong clinical and peer support system. That’s why we integrate evidence-based therapies with holistic healing approaches such as mindfulness, yoga, creative arts, and plans to expand into equine and nature-based therapy.
Your Role as a Substance Use Counselor
As a Substance Use Counselor, you will play a key role in guiding women through the early stages of recovery. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, you will provide trauma- informed therapy, relapse prevention strategies, and individualized treatment planning to support long-term healing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Counseling – Deliver individual, group, and family treatment using evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) and other evidence-based treatment approaches.
- Comprehensive Assessment & Treatment Planning – Conduct clinical assessments and develop personalized treatment plans addressing addiction, mental health, and social determinants of health.
- Trauma-Informed & Holistic Care – Utilize trauma-informed approaches, mindfulness practices, and life skills development to foster resilience and self-sufficiency.
- Crisis Intervention – Provide clinical support and crisis intervention as needed.
- Family & Peer Support Engagement – Facilitate family therapy sessions and connect residents to community-based support networks, including peer recovery programs.
- Continuum of Care Coordination – Collaborate with medical staff, case managers, and peer specialists to ensure a seamless transition to outpatient care, sober living, and long-term recovery programs.
- Documentation & Compliance – Maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to all state and federal documentation standards.
What We’re Looking For:
- Licensed Clinicians: LADC or CADC required.
- Experience in Substance Use & Co-Occurring Disorders: Prior experience working
with women in early recovery preferred.
- Expertise in Trauma-Informed Care: Strong understanding of trauma, relapse
prevention, and treatment planning.
- Commitment to Clinical Excellence & Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a
multidisciplinary team environment.
- Passion for Recovery-Oriented Care: Dedication to empowering clients through
evidence-based and holistic interventions.
