Join our Project Services Team as a dedicated Mechanical Engineer and contribute to our commitment to operational excellence.
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work with internal and external clients and be responsible for equipment sizing and construction, technical drawings, evaluation of specifications, and code requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and practical experience with ASME code Sections 8, Division 1, and have experience working in the industrial field of petrochemical plants, with knowledge and practical experience of ASME Code and pressure vessel design. Experience with API, ANSI, NBIC and NACE is highly valuable.
Much of this position will focus on ANSI using B31.1 power piping and B31.3 process piping code.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and construct equipment and generate all supporting calculations, specifications and drawings with key factors of safety, operability and maintainability.
- Design vessels and other equipment while considering the design of and impact on all instrumentation, relief devices, piping, valves, foundation, structural steel, etc.
- Create technical drawings.
- Generate and evaluate specifications.
- Perform mechanical integrity assessments on equipment.
- Review code requirements.
- Perform calculations for all shop-built vessels in accordance with ASME code requirements, both manually and using CEI Design Program.
Qualifications
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years of experience in ASME code piping and pressure vessel design.
- 3-plus years of experience in projects and vessel fabrication.
- Working knowledge (preferably practical experience) of ASME, ANSI, NBIC and NACE.
- Ability to effectively communicate ideas and concepts to managers, designers, engineers, fabricators, and those working outside of the Mechanical Engineering discipline.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively and make decisions in a timely manner.
