Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Aide to join our team in a dynamic clinical environment. The ideal candidate will assist physical therapists in providing high-quality patient care, ensuring a supportive and effective rehabilitation experience for patients. This role requires a strong understanding of anatomy and medical terminology, as well as the ability to work with diverse patient populations, including geriatrics, pediatrics and those with orthopedic conditions.
Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients.
- Prepare treatment areas and ensure all equipment is clean and ready for use.
- Help patients with exercises and mobility tasks, providing encouragement and support.
- Maintain accurate records of patient progress and report any changes to the therapist. Take blood pressures/vitals.
- Educate patients about their treatment plans and answer any questions they may have.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and clinic policies.
- Support administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient files.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
- Experience or familiarity with geriatrics, orthopedics, or sports medicine care preferred but not required.
- Excellent patient/customer service skills, demonstrating empathy and understanding toward patients' needs.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Attention to detail in following treatment protocols and maintaining accurate records.
- A commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a outpatient setting.
