POSITION SUMMARY
The Inventory Control Specialist is a key member of our team, responsible for managing documentation of inventories, updating pricing, creating new part numbers, and maintaining vendor information. This role involves assisting with cycle counts and parts/item management to ensure optimal inventory levels and accuracy.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES, AUTHORITIES, AND EXPECTATIONS:
- Manage inventory documentation and control processes to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
- Generate purchase orders in SAGE100, and receive and verify purchase orders.
- Maintain and update pricing and descriptions of part numbers to reflect current market conditions and product specifications.
- Utilize SAGE100 to generate various reports, including customer, vendor, and stock status reports.
- Assist with cycle counts and parts/item management to ensure inventory accuracy and optimal stocking levels.
- Conduct strategic stocking analysis to determine appropriate stocking levels by location, based on customer demand patterns and historical data.
- Assess the feasibility of bulk/quantity purchasing for high-turnover items to achieve cost savings and optimize inventory turns.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance in order processing and invoicing to streamline operations and maintain positive relationships with customers and vendors.
- Address vendor overages, shortages, and damages efficiently through the RMA process to ensure a seamless supply chain.
- Identify and implement continuous process improvements to enhance accuracy and optimize workflow.
- Create and use MS Excel for data management and analysis.
- Create and use MS Word for documentation and reporting.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the organization.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Excellent oral/written communication skills. Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel) is required. SAGE100 experience is preferred. Valid Driver’s License required. Other skills/abilities include: excellent phone etiquette, ability to multi-task, customer service driven, teamwork oriented, professional, upbeat, energetic, takes initiative, dependable, takes pride in work. Detail-oriented (performs in a manner that will prevent errors and omissions). Must be competent in the operation of material handling. Knowledge of NDT material preferred.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in a related field and 1-2 years of experience, or 10-15 years of experience in lieu of a degree.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, MSDS sheets and procedure manuals. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT: Exposure to the warehouse environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
