The area the work is performed in is high-risk area for exposure to blood borne pathogens. Works in a well lighted well ventilated area. Hours of duty may be irregular with covering various shifts.
Close relationship with Sterile Processing Department and OR Materials Management.
Provide patient transportation and unit related errands as directed by the nurse. Perfom unit specific housekeeping tasks, as outlined in the unit policy and / or procedure manual.
Must maintain BLS certification.
Work is of heavy demand. Standing and walking most of the time on duty. Lifting and pushing patient beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs daily. Mopping waxing, trash disposal, and general housekeeping daily. Near visual acuity, talking, and hearing necessary to communicate with patients and staff.
