What the Cellar & Warehouse Assistant does!
You'll work with a small team, and often times independently, in the warehouse and winery cellars to complete both manual and administrative tasks related to cellar activities and warehouse activities. Activities include shipment and receipt of materials, supplies, equipment and the prompt and accurate fulfillment of wine movement orders and requests as well as the case good inventory of respective locations. This position also supports the winemaking team with tasks such as cellar work, harvest work, bottling, labeling, and packaging of wine. The day to day may include :
Fulfilling wine club and e-commerce requests set forth by Wine Club department and communicate progress effectively.
Processing, packing and shipping daily wine and merchandise orders as well as all Club Testarossa shipments.
Assist with and communicate inventory levels.
Moving wine from Bond into other locations as needed, including loading wine onto trucks to be sent to off-site locations.
Fulfilling wine requests including event wine requests, wholesale orders or shipments, hospitality requests, marketing wine requests, wine club orders, and other wine requests as needed.
Managing the organization and presentation of the warehouse, and inventory locations through lean business practices.
Assisting with restocking and inventory management of all taxpaid locations in the winery.
Maintaining all shipping documents and provide accurate shipping quotes and tracking information.
Resolving logistical issues that arise with any shipping carrier or customer.
Receiving deliveries and incoming packages, unloading trucks, notifying the appropriate department and / or member and managing damaged / returned packages.
Assisting with ordering and receiving packaging supplies / manage lean business practices.
Providing support to the bottling line operations on a regular basis and ensure all team members wear proper PPE and follow safe work practices.
Assisting with harvest and cellar tasks as needed.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements :
Must be at least 18 years of age.
1 year of warehouse, inventory management and / or manufacturing experience, supervision & leadership, or combination of education and experience in lieu of experience only.
1 winemaking harvest season in the cellar or lab preferred.
Forklift certification with forklift experience within a winery; preferably during harvest season.
Computer knowledge / proficiency ; experience with UPS Worldship, Google Suite, and Commerce 7 a plus.
Strong communication & customer service skills.
Attention to detail, organizational skills, and strength in inventory methods.
Ability to follow procedures & policies.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Ability to work Monday – Thursday 6am – 4 : 30pm
Ability to work in a warehouse environment with dynamic job functions as well as exposure to a range of temperature changes.
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. on a frequent basis.
Ability to stand, walk and climb stairs and operate a forklift for the majority of each shift.
Ability to engage in activities associated with packing, shipping, and moving inventory, such as frequent grasping, reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day.
