Job Title: Entry-Level Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician Assistant
Job Overview:
TesTex, Inc. is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician Assistant to support our operations in the power generation, refining, and petrochemical industries. In this role, you will assist experienced NDT technicians in performing critical inspections using advanced techniques to ensure the integrity, safety, and reliability of equipment and structures without causing damage. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist NDT technicians in conducting various inspection methods, focusing on proprietary electromagnetic techniques (ET) and including ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), dye penetrant testing (PT), within power generation, refining, and petrochemical environments.
- Support the preparation of surfaces and equipment for testing, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specific client requirements.
- Aid in maintaining detailed records and accurate documentation of inspection results.
- Help ensure adherence to safety and operational procedures, particularly in hazardous or industrial environments.
- Assist with the setup, calibration, and maintenance of NDT equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability during testing processes.
- Safely transport equipment and materials to job sites across the power generation, refining, and petrochemical sectors.
- Learn industry-specific NDT techniques and stay informed on emerging technologies and standards relevant to the field.
- Support technicians in reviewing test data and contributing to report generation.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Interest in working in technical and industrial fields, particularly in power generation, refining, and petrochemical sectors (prior experience is a plus but not required).
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and data entry).
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights, with strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
- Willingness to learn and pursue NDT certification (training provided).
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with mechanical systems and industrial tools used in power generation, refining, or petrochemical plants.
- Understanding of basic safety procedures, especially in high-risk environments.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
Work Environment:
- Frequent travel to various industrial sites, including power plants, refineries, and petrochemical facilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by job site conditions.
