Job Description :
The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Program Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating projects related to the IAM greenfield implementation, upgrade to newer IAM system versions or migration or modernization to new generation IAM systems, Identity centric security assessment referring to standards, enhancement of IAM processes and maintenance of IAM systems.
This individual will ensure that all aspects of access control, user authentication, and identity governance align with business requirements and security protocols
The IAM Project Manager works with cross-functional teams, including IT, security, compliance, and business stakeholders, to deliver secure and efficient Identity Access Management solutions.
Qualifications
Overall 15 years experience with 5 years in Project Management, with a focus on IAM, Cybersecurity, or IT Infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of IAM principles, technologies, and best practices (e.g. Identity Governance / Administration, Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)).
Experience with atleast one or two IAM platforms implementation (e.g., SailPoint, Saviynt, Okta, ForgeRock, Microsoft Azure AD, Ping Identity, CyberArk, Beyond Trust).
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, and NIST.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong risk management and compliance expertise related to IAM and cybersecurity initiatives.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
PMP or equivalent certification is preferred.
Key Responsibilities :
Project Planning and Execution :
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of IAM projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timeline, resources, risk management, and communication strategies.
Define project objectives, success metrics, and deliverables.
Team Collaboration and Leadership :
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT security, compliance, legal, and business stakeholders, to ensure IAM solutions align with business goals.
Assign tasks to team members and manage project resources to meet objectives.
Facilitate regular team meetings, status updates, and problem-solving sessions to keep the project on track.
Stakeholder Management :
Engage with key stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensure IAM projects address business needs.
Provide regular project updates to senior management, stakeholders, and other relevant parties.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all IAM-related project issues and escalations.
Risk Management and Compliance :
Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to avoid project delays or security incidents.
Ensure all IAM solutions comply with relevant regulatory, security, and privacy standards
Conduct post-implementation reviews to ensure projects have met compliance and security requirements.
Vendor and Solution Management :
Work with third-party vendors and IAM solution providers to implement and integrate IAM tools and technologies
Oversee the configuration and customization of IAM solutions to meet specific organizational requirements
Ensure proper vendor support & follow-up on service requests is done.
Monitoring and Reporting
Track project performance and deliverables using appropriate tools and techniques (e.g., project dashboards, reporting tools)
Prepare and present regular project status reports to stakeholders.
Measure project success through post-project evaluations and by tracking key performance indicators (KPIs).
Training and Change Management
Develop and implement training programs for end users and IT teams on IAM policies, processes, and tools.
Manage change control processes and ensure smooth adoption of new IAM systems and processes.
Skills
Project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, Trello)
Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) tools
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
Analytical thinking with attention to detail
