Job Overview:
In the Entry-Level Pre-Press support position, you'll work 5 days a week in our Hackensack NJ headquarters as part of our team of experienced Pre-Press team members, learning the ins and outs of pre-flighting graphics for large format printing.

We want someone eager to build a career starting in the Entry Level Pre-Press position, motivated to learn, and skilled in Adobe Indesign who is equally as happy talking to people (customers) as they are tracking down orders and whipping through design files to help get our projects out right and on time. We don’t want someone who expects to spend 1-2 years at Testrite and then jump to the next opportunity. We want people who are looking to build a career, growing within the role as you learn more and add more value for us and our customers. You'll receive hands-on training from experienced teammates and learn to work with graphic files submitted by customers for printing, as well as critical customer service skills.

The day to day job process includes but is not limited to: Receiving a copy of an order that includes graphics, determining what’s needed and sending customers graphic specs or templates, following up to ensure we get graphics in on time, downloading graphics, preflighting them checking for known (and unknown) potential issues that may crop up in printing, generating and sending proofs, following up for proof approval, and then sending the job to our in house print team once approved.

You will work directly with our customers as well as with our in house print and sales teams. You’ll need to be able to explain in plain English to the customer any changes that are needed in a clear and professional manner. Many customers may not know the terminology, so ensuring you explain any issues in a way they can understand is critical.

Background:

We are a B2B Manufacturer and Large Format Printer – we print BIG. Customers prepare artwork to be used with our graphic frames. Our Pre-Press team downloads and opens the files, confirms which order they are for, checks to see if files are the right size, right resolution, correctly setup for the application. Then must check for a variety of other potential issues.

We print in house large format dye sublimation, roll to roll printing, and flatbed printing. This role is critical in ensuring the highest quality of printed materials for our clients and maintaining our reputation for excellence.

In addition to printing, we are a 106 Year Old US Manufacturer, so you’ll be exposed to the constant evolution of our company as we manufacture new products on a daily basis.

We are family owned and operated. We are a small business with a small tight nit office, and a factory 40 feet from where you will be working.

Qualifications:

• Required: Adobe Illustrator: Professional level of familiarity
• Organized multi-tasker: In this role, you will receive emails throughout the day, some of which need to be addressed right away. You’ll need to be able to deliver high quality work quickly, while making sure not to ignore the inbox as that job that’s due tomorrow may just have sent in the art file you’ve been waiting all week for. Must be able to stay organized with many projects running in parallel, keeping track of key dates and being a good partner to your customers by helping ensure they get art to you in time to meet their deadlines.
• Experience: Must be able to demonstrate that you understand and can meet the needs of a full time position.
• Attention to Detail: Must be very detail oriented and methodical to ensure issues are caught at pre-press stage as misses and mistakes can be costly.

Compensation:

$20 Per hour full time. Medical benefits, Profit Sharing, discretionary Annual Bonus based on personal and company performance, as well as a voluntary 401K.
