Summary
TCFPD is currently accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Chief- Fire Prevention (Fire Marshal). The Fire Marshal will play a vital role in overseeing fire prevention, inspection, and enforcement of fire safety regulations within the district. This position requires a highly dedicated and skilled professional with a passion for community safety and fire prevention.

Responsibilities
- Plans, directs, and performs oversight and management of Department Prevention programs;
- Maintains expertise in the methods, principles, practices, and procedures related to fire prevention and investigation;
- Maintains specific knowledge of all state and local fire and life safety codes, NFPA standards as applicable;
- Participates in development of policies and procedures within the Department;
- Responds to emergency incidents, evaluates results obtained by subordinate officers when they have been first on the scene, assumes command and directs fire suppression, hazardous material control, medical response, rescue, and property conservation activities; orders additional units to the scene when necessary and returns units to service as the situation is controlled;
- Responds to inquiries, suggestions, and concerns from the public in a courteous and prompt manner;
- Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with Department policies, procedures, and safety practices.
Qualifications
- A minimum of two years’ experience as a battalion/division level officer within an all-hazard response fire department;
- A combination of education, training, and experience necessary to establish and demonstrate proficiency and ability to fulfill the responsibilities as outlined above. A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, is preferred;
- International Association of Fire Investigators membership/certification;
- International Code Council-Fire Inspector I, Inspector II preferred;
- State of Idaho or National Registry EMT Licensure, Paramedic preferred;

Pay: $107,416.00 - $134,270.00 per year
