What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN Surgery position at Teton County Hospital District?
Minimum Education
Required: Associates Degree in Nursing. Must complete the required Health Stream wound care competencies upon hire.
Required: Must be able to perform specific clinical tasks while providing excellent clinical care. Must possess sound nursing
knowledge and be able to provide/assist in patient education. Must have sound knowledge of clinic procedures.
Ability to read/interpret physician notes and orders, analyze options, and provide counsel to patients.
Preferred: Surgical Assist experience. National Wound Care Certifications.
ACLS certification preferred.
Working Conditions
Hospital based outpatient department, frequent interruptions, sometimes stressful environment. Combination of exam
rooms and medical offices. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation,
medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment. Must be on-site at the SJH campus or
other facilities to fulfill the responsibilities of this role.
Standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 10 pounds.
Correct vision and hearing within normal range with or without use of corrective devices. Must be able to verbally
interact with staff, patients and the public. Manual dexterity for writing and computer use. Requires working in
emergency situations and may involve irregular work hours including weekends, evenings, holidays and natural
disasters. Must possess sight and hearing senses to meet job requirements.
Reports to: Clinic Operations Manager
Internal & External Contacts: Staff, hospital departments, physicians, patients, families and visitors.
