outcomes. This position plays a central role in designing, delivering, and analyzing participatory processes resulting in
improved decision making.

- Lead the design and facilitation of human-centered research and engagement processes, including interviews, focus groups, surveys, and participatory design workshops.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to understand user needs and behaviors.
- Reviews and compiles the data collected from public engagement and assists departments and/or the project manager with data analysis. Monitors and analyzes public feedback and engagement metrics to measure the effectiveness of engagement efforts and identify areas for improvement.
- Creates and delivers design artifacts, visuals graphics, and data visualizations to inform policy and decisionmaking.
- Develops and maintains a database of contacts related to citizen outreach, business outreach, and specific project and/or outreach to affected groups.
- Coordinates and executes informational and/or public meetings, focus groups, committee meetings, and neighborhood meetings as they relate to public engagement, research, and user-experience design for projects.
- Works with departments and/or project managers to create, coordinate, and execute public engagement plans for a variety of County projects. Plans objectives; aids in the process of identifying affected groups and interested parties; identifies appropriate tactics and mediums to best inform and reach target audiences. Creates opportunities for meaningful feedback and inclusion that promotes, supports, and integrates community involvement into County governance. Ensures the county’s overall public engagement strategy is inclusive of all community members.
- Works with departments and/or project managers to create outreach communications in the form of project newsletters, surveys, and other communications opportunities.
- Networks and builds relationships with businesses, government entities, and non-government organizations to enhance research and collaboration.
- Supports the relationship between Teton County staff and the public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in User Experience (UX) Design, Design, Communications, Marketing, or closely related field.
- Two years of experience delivering user experience design, public engagement or related concepts; experience
- Or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- May be required to possess a valid Wyoming/Idaho Driver’s License and maintain an acceptable driving record.
- Principles and best practices in human-centered design, communications, public engagement, public relations, and
- Principles and practices of an end-to-end design process including discovery, research, design, prototyping, and
- Principles and practices of meeting facilitation and stakeholder management.
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with coworkers and other individuals in contact
- Strategic thinking, advanced problem solving, and conflict management skills.
- Advanced writing, verbal, and visual communication skills with a focus on presenting complex information in plain
- Operating a variety of standard office equipment and a laptop computer and utilizing standard software including
- Maintaining a professional demeanor and attitude.
- Assessing, prioritizing, and completing multiple tasks and meeting multiple demands simultaneously.
- Preparing clear and concise reports and other professional documents and correspondence.
- Following established protocols and procedures.
- Maintaining accurate records and logs.
- Interacting tactfully and professionally with County staff, outside agencies, and the public.
