SUMMARY: Manages and schedules a variety of preventative maintenance and repair work. Performs skilled construction and ground maintenance and repair work involving the use of large and small equipment. Assists the Facilities Maintenance Coordinator in providing direction and training to Department staff and contracted workers.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Reviews and prioritizes work orders and participates in maintenance and repairs tasks and projects.
· Assists the Facilities Maintenance Coordinator in overseeing contracted workers and projects.
· Purchases and maintains inventory of supplies and tools.
· Assists with the preparation and set up of special events.
· May inspect areas such as public and staff areas of the Teton County/Jackson Community Recreation Center for safety, maintenance needs, and staff performance.
· Supports the relationship between the Teton County staff and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or GED equivalent
· Up to 1 year of experience in maintenance, construction, or related field
Required Licenses and Certifications:
· Must possess a valid Wyoming/Idaho Driver’s License and maintain an acceptable driving record.
· Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Certified Pool Operator Certification within 6 months of hire.
· Specific technical skills training and certifications may be required depending upon area of assignment.
Required Knowledge of:
· Department and County policies and procedures.
· Safety rules and regulations, occupational hazards, and safety precautions.
· Principles and practices of effective project management, leadership, supervision and training.
Required Skills in:
· Operating a personal computer utilizing standard software, and some specialized software.
· Performing repair and maintenance tasks in various construction trades including but not limited to plumbing, electrical and carpentry.
· Using various hand tools and power tools.
· Compiling and maintaining records and reports.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
· Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions; requires constant physical efforts, and may be exposed to dangerous tools and equipment; safety precautions must be followed, including use of safety equipment.
