Position Purpose:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Part-Time Performing Arts Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and inspiring students in grades K-8 through music, dance, drama, and other performing arts disciplines. This position involves planning and delivering engaging lessons that foster creativity, self-expression, and teamwork.
Responsibilities:
Teach performing arts classes, including but not limited to music, dance, drama, and movement, to students in grades K-8.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and foster artistic skills.
- Plan, rehearse, and coordinate a seasonal performance, recital or showcase for students.
- Assess and track student progress in performing arts skills and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate performing arts with other subjects when applicable.
- Maintain classroom management and ensure a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, upcoming performances, and any classroom-related updates.
Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development as required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts, Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience teaching performing arts to children or young adults (K-8) is preferred.
- Strong background in one or more of the following: instrumental music, vocal music electronic music, drama, or movement.
- Ability to engage and inspire students.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
A passion for creative expression and an understanding of how performing arts contribute to student development.
