Job Summary:
Teton Youth and Family Services (TYFS) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to ensure our organization adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, licensing requirements and internal policies. Serving as a critical resource for our child advocacy center, group home, crisis shelter, and residential treatment center, the Compliance Officer will help maintain our commitment to providing ethical, safe, and high-quality services for children and families in need.
Key Responsibilities:

Policy Development and Implementation:
- Create, implement, and update internal compliance policies and procedures to align with state and federal laws, regulations, and organizational goals.
- Risk Assessment and Auditing:
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments across all programs to identify compliance vulnerabilities and address them effectively.
- Training and Education:
- Design and deliver compliance training to staff at all levels to ensure awareness of legal and regulatory requirements.
- Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor operational processes and procedures for compliance with child welfare standards, including HIPAA, licensing requirements, and other relevant regulations.
- Maintain a student database (excel) and use it to complete and submit federal, state, and school reports.
- Regularly report compliance findings and concerns to senior management.
- Investigations and Corrective Actions:
- Investigate reports of noncompliance, including those from whistleblowing hotlines, and develop actionable solutions to present to senior management.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay informed about changes to regulations affecting child advocacy and residential care services, interpreting their impact on TYFS operations.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Act as a liaison between departments to ensure consistent compliance practices across all programs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, social work, law, or a related field (required).
- 3-5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a similar role, preferably within human services or nonprofit organizations.
- Key Skills:
- Strong understanding of child welfare laws, including licensing, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other compliance management tools.
- Detail-oriented with high ethical standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in child advocacy, group homes, or residential treatment programs.
- Familiarity with grant compliance and nonprofit funding regulations.
