What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Care Staff - Night Shift position at Teton Youth & Family Services?
Description:
Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, the Night staff shall assume responsibility
for the following areas:
- Ensures security at Red Top Meadows or Van Vleck House during the nighttime hours.
- Make frequent bed checks (every ten to fifteen minutes) and keep written records of these checks. Make sure each student is seen and safe.
- Remain aware and alert at all times while on duty.
- Wake students for school, prepare weekday breakfast and, if needed, prep lunch and dinner according to menus planned.
- Document food production records for breakfast.
- Help students start their day positively by maintaining a pleasant, caring attitude, and a calm, respectful environment at breakfast.
- Complete assigned minor maintenance or housekeeping responsibilities as scheduled for each night and those requested by your supervisor.
- Deal briefly with student issues that arise during the night. Inform other staff of issues that may have occured. Document things properly by utilizing our electronic medical record. Write incident reports as necessary.
- Continue professional development. Attend monthly all-staff meetings and attend other scheduled training sessions.
- Flexibility to be on our On-Call Holding facility schedule for our crisis shelter 1-2 times per month.
- Assume other duties assigned by the Director and Child Care Supervisor.
Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma, ability to relate to troubled youth. Certified or willing to become certified in First Aid and CPR. Willingness to complete other necessary training and certifications. Must be able to pass a background check and have a valid driver's license.
